Food environments are the factors around us that influence the food choices we make, such as the availability of food, price, how desirable it appears and whether we can access it.
Food environments include food outlets such as takeaways and restaurants, as well as places to purchase groceries, including supermarkets, convenience stores and markets.
Background
Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) is looking at ways to improve local food environments and create healthy places to live. We need your views to help us do this.
Please complete this quick 5-10-minute survey to help us understand what you think of the local food environment. By completing this survey, you give permission for HCC to anonymously use quotes from your responses on our website and in documents relating to our work on the food environment.
For the purpose of this survey, takeaways are defined as per the Food Environment Assessment Tool (FEAT):
“Food outlets where hot food is ordered and paid for at the till, no waiter service, and limited or no sit-in option. It includes bakeries such as Greggs, and well-known brands such as KFC and McDonalds, and local independent takeaways.”
