Future Short Breaks services
At the moment Children and young people with different SEND needs can use Short Breaks without having an assessment first, which makes it easier to get started. However, lots of children want to use the service, and we have waiting lists. This means some activities can become full, and you might not always get a place. Places are often given to the people who apply first, rather than to those who need the most support.
We would like to know your views on changing to a new targeted service where children's needs are looked at through an assessment. Children and young people who need the most support would be prioritised for Short Breaks.
Our Community Short Breaks Universal Offer would still be available, for example The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Community Activities Directory and Herts Card.
